Hi! These are some of my favorite motivators:
*Check out success stories on MFP and other sites, they have before and after pictures that are truly inspirational!
*Get new work out gear such shorts/pants, sports bras, exercise gloves or even new music to work out.
*Wake up and remind yourself why you want to change, visualizing yourself in your (realisitic) goal body keeps the mind focused and away from self defeating thoughts.
*Go window shopping! Seeing all the fabulous clothes you can wear and feel confident and sexy
*If I'm tempted to induldge in a no no food, then I just take a super small portion (and log it!) or find a replacement (like if I want chocolate then I make a chocolate protein shake or grab a chocolate protein bar)...otherwise I'm craving it! (and I think about the extra calories I'll have to work off :noway: )
*Most importantly don't beat yourself up! Doing this is a sure way to kill your motivation and your hope.
Hope this helps a little
Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -

hi kas
First of all congrats on losing already in the month you've been here. I am barely 2 weeks in, and 2 lbs down. I have found some of the success stories here very motivating. The key seems to be just to keeeep at it and not get discouraged. And we all have our bad days. If you are having some success already, surely you can go all the way to your goal.
Feel free to friend me if you like!0 -
thanks everyone!
it is hard to keep at it day after day. I have been looking at the success stories and I am astonished by the results some people see. it is inspirational- but at the same time i cant help but think "oh wow i can NEVER look that good" and i get discouraged all over. haha
i signed up for a cardio kickboxing class at the local commuinty college and ive only been to two classes and its already kicking my butt!
when i first started i went shopping and found a pair of jeans i loved and bought it in a size 12 (normally a 14 or 16 petite) and i'm just fitting into them now. its a feel good moment for sure! but i used to be a size 2..so being happy about being a 12 is kinda embarassing. lol
my husband was supposed to do this with me. hes in the army overseas in korea and i guess he just doesnt have the time. so its discouraging when i log everyday and have no one to talk to about it. hence the post looking for friends.
thanks again everyone!0 -
I have been on this site a little over 20 days and seeing the calories add up being completely honest has helped me...any weight loss is something to be proud of :bigsmile:0

same here with the seeing the calories add up. i guess i never really knew how much i was eating before. i'll never ever look at food the same! which is good because im looking more for a lifestyle change than just some lbs lost.0
