Anyone else have this problem?

So its the end of the day and I felt like I have had a high calorie intake the past few years (derp) and I was browsing the food journals of the people I admire here on MFP and now I am SO STINKING HUNGRY I COULD DIE!!!!

OK, so that was a slight exaggeration. But seriously! I don't know how some of yall out there eat such yummy sounding food and stay in your calorie goals. I'm gonna go chomp on ice cubes and put what I have learned from yall's journals into play tomorrow!

I know! right?! these ice cubes aren't cutting it; I think I'm actually hungry.

Oh, and I made the mistake of reading a thread about which brand of greek yogurt people like, and now I have an insatiable desire for yogurt. I think it just might be time for bed....

Here's a little trick you can try which is based on research from the Journal of Pharmaceutical Science's article 'Cholinomimetic compound distinct from caffeine contained in coffee. II: Muscarinic actions.', May 1992, pp. 449-52.

The study suggests that coffee - and I'm talking straight up black coffee - acts as a hunger suppressant. Now in relation to your 'cravings' at night as you described that you get hungry after looking at recipes and it so happens to be night time, I would recommend a de-caffeinated cup of black coffee. It's not so much the caffeine that suppresses the hunger, but roasted coffee beans contain Cholinomimetic's which are found to be very helpful in naturally approaching hunger problems. And for obvious reasons i recommend de-caf at night because you don't want to be awake all night long. But this can be applied in the morning as well if you feel hungry but don't have time to eat, buy a long black from your local coffee shop to go and the effects should last up to 1 - 2 hours. Try it out, see what you think.
