So I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or what's going on.. but for the past week I worked out 6 days, burning a good amount if calories per day, and then also eating between 1500 and 2000 calories a day. So I got on the scale yesterday and I had GAINED 2 lbs! And today my scale says I have gained a total of 5 lbs! So.. eating right, exercising and gaining weight.. if that isn't a motivation killer, I don't know what is.

Are you on your period or due to start within the next 5-7 days?

Well there you go. Most women gain 2-5 pounds of water weight a little before and during their period. Some gain even more than that. It's just necessary water your body adds to help protect you against the blood loss. It goes away within a few days after your period ends.

I am in this same boat. Have patience. One of the girls on my friends list posted this to me today and it helped so much.

"this scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity...that's it!!!.....It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love....be more, not less!"

could be gaining muscle, either way, watch your pant size, not the scale! and be sure to weigh at the same time each day. my best weight is in the morning right after I wake up and use the bathroom. If I wait til later I have already drank and eaten things which do show up on the scale.

Just taking a quick look into your food diary gives me a little bit of a picture. You are really heavy on the carbs and light on the protein. You don't have a section for sodium but looking at the foods you are eating I am betting your sodium intake is high. High carbs and high sodium will cause you to hold onto that water weight. Tweak your macros a bit and come down a tad on the calories and the scale will go down for you.

Also, any major changes to your exercise routine will lead to temporary weight gain as your muscles hold onto water to repair themselves.

A gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. Water retention is a real thing & can greatly influence your scale weight. Most peoples' weight fluctuates in a particular range over the week; my range is usually 5 lbs or so, though I've seen bigger fluctuations. If the range is 240-245 one week & 238-243 the next, does it really matter what my weight is on a specific day?
