Torn Knee Ligament

About 2 years ago I tore my PCL playing hockey and every time I go to the gym I end up walking out limping because every exercise seems to hurt it. I've tried everything, even some expensive knee braces, but it still ends up hurting. I hate it because I love to run and workout, but it really limits what I can do and cuts my workouts short every time.

Does anyone have any experience with this injury and figured out how to keep it from getting reinjured?

i tore my acl years ago and had it replaced. you may want to go to the doctors just to make sure you haven't done further damage to it. not what you want to hear but better to have it checked then tear it again and wind up on bed rest.

I've had 5 knee surgeries for a torn ACL and severely torn meniscus. In the past, exercising almost always hurt, but after my last surgery (NOT because I hurt myself again, but because my meniscus transplant is at the end f its life and is deteriorating), I was lucky enough to go to a sports therapy clinic for rehab. My therapist was AWESOME! Some days, I hated her, but that was only because she made me work my butt off... and then I started to notice that my knee hurt so much less it was amazing! I had muscle tone in my quads on my bad leg again, and I'd thought that was NEVER going to come back all the way.

Go to the doctor, first and foremost. If there is another injury, that'll need to be addressed first. You can also ask the doctor for exercise recommendations that will help if you do them exactly as often and as intensely as prescribed, as long as the doc you see is a good one.

I have no PCL and a had my ACl replaced, I would not be running as that makes my knees feel terrible. Find things you can do mostly pain free
