Is there seriously this much sodium in plain vegetables??

MFP has 3 oz of celery as 77 g of sodium, baby carrots (3 oz) 65 g of sodium and frozen spinach (plain, 1 cup) 184 g of sodium?? seriously?

I know there is quite a bit of 'natural' sodium found in veggies... comes from the earth. I don't know if anyone has ever attempted to use hydroponics to grow reduced sodium veggies... might be worth an attempt.
  • Nutritondata.com is a great place to find food values....
but, MFP is pretty accurate in that 3 oz of raw celery is about 66 g sodium, same for baby carrots raw and spinach raw is about that also - spinach frozen (when they freeze things they add preservatives to "preserve it" sodium is used a lot) -- spianch 1 cup prepared without salt is about 180 g.....so yes, MFP is pretty accurate.
  • thanks everyone, I truly did NOT want to believe it!! ah well, onward..........
