Calories....

So I read that anorexia is partially defined as the desire to be lower than a healthy weight...I wonder what it's called if I want to be skinny and control my calories, but I'm not anorexic. I don't want to be 100lbs, but maybe 110-115, which works for my 5'2" build. I don't want to wither away to nothing, and I don't hate food. I also read that under 1000 calories is ok for me since I'm so short...I eat when I'm hungry but still only manage 700-900 calories. What do you all think? I make very informed food choices and notice my calories stay very low just eating and snacking when I'm hungry. Im a vegetarian too so the fruits and veggies i eat a lot of are not high in calories. Also, please do not automatically read this post and assum I am anorexic. I am the person in my picture and am clearly not underweight. I am not looking to develop an issue with eating either.
I'd also like to note that I am 24, currently 155lbs and am not looking to be 'unhealthy'. I am a runner and regular gym attendee to make sure I'm staying healthy. I'm not trying to be stupid with this post, just asking a question. I've never eaten a lot of food, and medical issues prevent that right now for me also. I just don't see the point in eating if you're not hungry and I don't get hungry often.

You will get alot of people speaking out against you for eating under 1200 calories... Don't worry about it as long as you are eating above 800 everyday and often up around 1200... Give yourself a minimum for the week and a maximum for the week and stay between those two figures... If you find yourself losing too fast one week then consume a bit more the next week. This is your journey... Don't let the rest of us tell you what is best for you. Figure that out like a science experiment and adjust to fit your needs.0

Even at that height that seems like too few calories. You should base your consumption off your TDEE and determine what is appropriate based on that for your weekly weight loss goals.
Anorexia is a serious problem that will NOT achieve the goals people suffering from it desire. This is due to the adverse changes on body composition that occurs during very low calorie diets.0 -
I'm 5'2". Eat more. Seriously.0

while that may be an indicator of anorexia, it is just that. Anorexia is a mental health disorder, indicated by an obsessive need to control your food intake.
If its not obsessive, if it's not using food in order to control your life as there are other things you can't control, or to bury demons then it's not anorexia.
If it's healthy to eat that few calories and restrict yourself to that extent is another issue. Personally I believe it could well lead to a disorder if one isn't already present.0 -
+1 on the TDEE. Also your a runner so is that 800 net or gross, you really need to be eating those calories back if your not already.
To my internet certified diagnostics. I think you need to talk to your DR, you sound like you could slip into an ED.0 -
I'm 5'3" and also encourage you to eat more, especially if you are exercising. You will lose more weight beleive it or not. I would choose higher calorie items with protein and/or even add a protein shake/smoothie once a day to up your calorie intake so you body can build some muscle!0
