Hi
(Im 5'7, 22.3% BMI)
Why there are people (like me) who has most of their body fat just on their abs? I mean, fat does not seem to spill into the sides, why is that possible?

BMI (Body Mass Index)is not a %age....It is a ratio of weight/height. It is not associated with body fat %. You might want to have your body fat measured and work on losing body fat in order to be able to see ab definition.0

Usually called "stubborn fat", it was meant for survival when we evolved. The scientific reasoning behind it is the fat cells in the abdomen (for men), hips (for women) have a greater alpha-2 receptor density - which means very slow/limited fat burning. There are ways to counteract the effects of this receptor but those tactics are not required until about 10-12% bodyfat.0

do you drink beer?
you actually have fat all over, it's just more pronounced in your core region apparently.
we're all built differently.0 -
That's where some people, especially men, store fat. And it's funny where you lose it - I lost 25 lbs without my clothes fitting any different and then after the next five lbs everything was loose all the sudden. Bodies are weird.0

If belly fat is there for survival, when famine strikes I'll be the last man on earth. So really, although we are becoming a culture that abhors belly fat, there is a good reason for it, so we really shouldn't be paranoid about "some" belly fat.It could actually mean, that those that are genetically swayed towards "some" belly fat are healthier than those without it. hmmmmm0

it's just a joke *sigh* examples...
No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston
No one's got a swell cleft in his chin like Gaston
In a wrestling match nobody bites like Gaston
No one hits like Gaston
Matches wits like Gaston
In a spitting match, nobody spits like Gaston
I got it, I chuckled heartily0 -
It's simple... Genetics! /thread.
Genetics determine where your store your fat and the shape of your body. Cut body fat with heavy weight training and a moderate calorie deficit and get over it, not to be harsh. I store my fat in my stomach and neck... nothing I can do about it.0 -

I was worried because I was getting really skinny in some parts, like the upper part of my body, the bones seems to be really close to the skin, I was wondering if something was going wrong0
