Ski Weekend

I am going away this weekend with my husband to go skiing. We are not skiers and we are not going away because it is valentines weekend rather it is the Family Day long weekend here in Ontario. The rest of the weekend we want to try to learn to ski or snowboard, we want to go staking, and I would love to try shoe shoeing which they offer as well.

Anyays, we have rented a challet and it is fully equipped with a kitchen. We are going to go out for Dinner Friday night to treat ourselves for V-day, but I want to bring gorceries with me to make the rest of our meals in the challet to both save money and to stay on track with healthy eating.

Being that I am not a skier, and having never snow shoed, can anyone help me plan what I should bring with me. As of right now I was planning on making a shepards pie w ground turkey and low sodium gravy, and also pack some fish as our other dinenrs. How hungry will we be with al this activity? What and how much snacks should I pack and any healthy ideas for lunches that will fill us and provide us with enough energy to do all this activity?

Thanks in advance!

  • I am so going away this weekend of ski weekend! I plan on packing lots and lots of h20 and maybe some gatorade because i get dehydrated easily. Luckily we have continented breakfast with some nutritious stuff. for lunch im thinking soup and sandwiches. for dinner we're also thinking fish. Snacks will include kaski granola bars, low sodium v8, my boyfriend like's power bars, and of course healthy trail mix. for gear you should make sure you have water resistant snow pants, gloves. I like hand and feet warmers to throw in my mittens and socks as well. Sounds like you're going to have lots of funn!!! good luck!
