Have recently returned to the site after an unfortunate hiatus...Trying to get the motivation back up, i've moved in with my boyfriend and its sooo bad for your fitness! Too many excuses to eat out and have treats in the cupboards. But we've cleared them out and are selecting meals carefully!

Could anyone else share how they get themselves motivated, especially in the face of temptation and as the days draw in and get colder!

When I first started dieting my wife wasnt so I know how you feel. Make notes to remind yourself of your goal and be proud of the days that you win! (stay under goal) Make it a mental game to continue to stay under your goal. On the days you go over, just remember that its only one day and move on. Dont give up or give in if you have a bad stretch. and remeber, the scale lies alot!! Water weight, water retention, muscle changes, etc. dont count only on the scale. take before pictures and measurments and track thouse weekly. Regardless what the scale says you know your dropping fat when you add new holes to your belt! Thats what kept me going. I had a 42 in waist and now down to a 29 inch waist and I kept the same belt for this reason. So i could see the progress thru the worn out and added holes! It feels great!!

I work out with videos, indoors in my living room. Don't have to worry about the weather. They are fun and usually about 30 minutes long. When you are putting the work in on the workouts, you won't want to ruin your hard work. A year ago I could never imagine myself saying such a thing because I hated exercise. But if you stick with it, things change, both body and attitude!

I stay motivated by looking at unguarded photos of my fat *kitten*...the kind when I didn't have time to suck in my gut.
