Is there a benefit to fasting? If so what might it be?

I like the idea of fasting, but seldom do as I worry about metabolism. What if any are the benefits of fasting?

What about it makes you worry about your metabolism? You have to severely under eat (400 calories a day or less) for months to have any effect on your metabolism.0

You get to eat all your allotted calories in a shorter time frame. Means bigger meals of whatever you can fit into your macros,
Smaller time frame to eat means you'll be less hungry and won't have to "snack" in between each one.0 -
^This, if you keep it up.
However, if you're not doing intermittent fasting and just fasting once and a while, sure, it'll cut calories, but you'll feel like *kitten*0 -

^^ This.
I do it once a week. 24 hr fast and I still eat everyday (breakfast to breakfast.) I like that I don't have to restrict my calories during the rest of the week. It took a little time to get used to doing it. Now I know when I'm truly hungry and don't constantly think about what/when I'm going to eat like I used to.
Edit: Plus it helps with the food bill, lol0
