How long does it normally take you to decide you need up your weights on an exercise?

When it gets too easy. Like, after a few weeks of doing 15 reps of 20 lbs, you should be able to do 20 reps at 20 lbs and be the same amount of tired after. Usually after those 5 extra reps get too easy I will up the weight and go back to the lower number of reps. This works for most exercises. It also depends how often you're lifting and how much you want to push yourself. Just listen to your body.0

Hmmm.. I usually up mine by 5lbs. every 2 weeks, but I only do the machines at the gym not free weights, so it may be different??0

If you are wanting to build, you will want to be able to barely complete your set. Lower your reps, and increase your wait so that you struggle by your last couple! I started off at a wimpy 5 pound bicep curl.. now I am up to 25!0
