I have only lost 8lbs but I have lost 2" off my stomach

I have only lost 8lbs but I have lost 2" off my stomach, I have been lifting weights and on a 1000 calorie deficit, could I have actually gained muscle mass on a defict, or did I just lose weight on that area I measured? I have only started working out again for 20 days.

    Hm, not sure, but I really doubt you can pack on much muscle if any if you are on a 1000-calorie deficit.
