Overeat when working at home

I don't know what it is, but when I work from home (1-2 days per week), I have a real problem staying out of the fridge. Whenever I need to stretch my legs, or get finished with a task, it seems like I get up and go see what there is to eat. Some days, I just go to the library so there's no temptation, but many days, working from home just wrecks my plans!

What advice do you have for me?

I work from home on the weekends (after working 12-13 hour days during the week....lame!) and I do the same thing. What I do, and it seems silly, is pack up all my food for the day like I normally do when I go to work. I do excellent when I'm at work because I only can eat what I brought. Just pretend you are doing the same thing. It helps, I promise! :)

That's a great idea. I will try it.

I work from home everyday in the kitchen at the computer. I give myself specific times to take a break and snack. It gives me that to look forward to. If I really am hungry I find a couple spicy pringles like the jalepeno type seems to take the edge off or drinking a large beverage can sometimes work as well.

My wife made me start doing this, and it's kind of a pain, but it helps - we buy all of our veggies (carrots, celery, caulflower, broccoli, etc) and cut it all up on Sunday nights and stick it in tupperware in the fridge. If it's there and ready, I can grab that instead of the leftovers. On weeks we don't do that, we don't eat nearly as many.

Drinking a lot of water helps me too.

Thanks, all. These are some great ideas. I appreciate the support. Another thing I may try is exercising instead of eating--a few jumping jacks, squats or push ups would break the boredom and be better than eating.
