This may seem like a dumb question... but is there a certain calorie deficit that puts your body into starvation mode? for instance say I burn 500 calories, and my normal intake for the day would be 1200 calories, but i only eat ______. <Is there a way to figure out this number to ensure that my body wont go into starvation mode?

There's a couple threads already going on the non existence of starvation mode if you scan the threads.0

Yes, it does exist. Some call it "starvation mode" and others call it adaptive thermogenesis. you won't GAIN weight by eating less but you lose less than the numbers would predict. You ensure that you don't experience this by aiming for a modest deficit --no more than 1% of your body weight for a weight loss goal each week --and you take periodic diet breaks where you eat at maintenance.0
