And RD's or Nutritionists out there??

Hi,
I'm contemplating going back to school for a second Bachelor's degree, and was very interested in becoming a nutritionist or a registered dietician. What is the job market like out there? (I've read what jobs you can get, but want to hear from people actually working out in the field). I'm also going to complete my yoga teacher's certificate, and would also like to emphasize in holistic/integrative health. Thanks! I meet with a counselor tomorrow to look over my transcripts and discuss classes...I'm actually getting excited about this

I eat food and have a computer. Does that qualify?0

Nutrition-dietetics is a rigid degree program- regulated by the ADA so there's not a lot of wiggle room. It's hard to pick up in the middle and get it done fairly quickly. There are some masters programs available that qualify you for the dietetic internships and thus, the RD exam. I'd definitely look into that. If you're going to be there for 2+ years, why not knock out a Masters! :-)0

Wantd to add- the ADA website will be your best resource for checking out job stats and availability/starting pay etc.. as well as what education programs and internships are available and where. :-) Hope that helps!0

Thanks! I'll bring that up tomorrow. This is a state University, but it shares a campus with the University of Colorado (Denver), which offers a Master's in Nutrition. Sadly, my BA is in History, so only useful for skipping a lot of prereq's!0 -
