Help!! Flawed logic?

Hey all, so here's my question. Simply put, the road I set to my fitness goal would be to first lose 25-35 lbs (225 SW) and then bulk back up, focusing initially on only cardio for the weight loss and then strength for the, well, strength. Is this the best way to get in shape? Or should I work on both at the same time?
Thanks!
Pat

Makes more sense to incorporate some strength training into your exercise while you're losing. Although it's more or less impossible to gain significant amounts of muscle while in a caloric deficit, weight training (along with adequate protein intake) helps guard against losing muscle. It's much easier to keep what you have now than it is to try to put it back on after you've lost it.0
