Calorie Cycling

Was wondering how many people here have tried, or had any luck with Calorie Cycling? counting calories per week, instead of per day.... and alternating between high and low days...... to "Trick" your metabolism, supposedly to prevent your body from hitting a plateau and going into starvation mode?

I've been trying this for one month now, and have lost 12 lbs in one month! I started at 293lbs, and my calorie cycle would look something like 1800, 2100,1800,2500,2100,1800,2100 ... (I was aiming for 1lb a week with goal) However I've been losing about 2-3lbs a week! (Now 281)

I feel really great, I've in no ways missed out on my favorite foods, I've been able to splurge a couple of times a week, going out to eat or on desserts, and just make up for it with exercise and low calorie days.... (Making sure I do get some nutritious stuff in on my splurge days of course)

I really love the flexibility.... Since myfitnesspal goals don't have the calorie cycling option, what I do is I set my low days as my goal, and if I could go under it, great! It's a low cal day! If not, I let myself have a higher day and try again next time, so long as I don't go over my weekly calorie limit....

Anyways just thought I'd share my success with it so far, and ask if anyone else has tried it.......

If it's working for you stick with it! Personally I have tried calculating the weekly caloric intake and having high and low days, and I found that i wasn't able be as consistent as i was to having 6 moderate carb days with 1 refeed days. But everyone is different and no one can tell you what works and what doesn't without the experience of your own body. Keep up the great work and good luck!
