Soldier deployed...

My soldier is deployed. Of course, things always seem to go wrong once your spouse is deployed. I've dealt with many issues, vehicle, school, kids.... it seems that at any given time I'm faced with another issue. I could cry (which I do at times), but I would love some support. At this moment, I'm dealing with a ton things! Vehicular problems non-stop. I am so ready for my soldier to come home! I hope someone can relate. Please give me some reassurance. I know I can handle this, just want others that have been in the same situation to give me guidance!

Hello
I'm not at Riley but my husband has been deployed for 4 times for a year each time feel free to add me as a friend. It gets easier I promise just take it a day at a time0 -
He hun. I feel for you.
I am an ex soldiers wife. He did 22 years in the army and I did 15 years with him. My OH used to say that the wives suffered more than the husbands. He knew he was ok, I didn't. We didn't have the means of communication that there is today. We got a letter once a week if we were lucky. If that letter missed....well, I had him dead and buried. Yes it was that bad even back then. I never watched the news.
My advice to you would be to keep busy. I became the fitest I had ever been. I had two part time jobs, two boys (I worked whilst they were at school) I went swimming every morning before work. I went running with the dog and I rode my bike. I also worried myself sick if I didn't get a letter.
Be there for when your husband comes home and be ready to listen. They quite often go through hell but will not open up. They need an understanding wife to come home too.
Stay strong for you and your husband. They are doing a brave and brillant job. Just support him by being strong. That is your role.
Good luck. I will be thinking of you.0 -
Your not alone! It's hard but it does get easier. My husband just got back from a deployment in February and it was up to me to get everything for our PCS to Germany done on my own. My youngest spent most of that time in and out of the hospital and my oldest went through a terrible phase. There were time where I wanted to just throw the towel in, but I just kept telling myself that God put me in this relationship for a reason. He made me a step mom to a wonderful now 7 year old little boy who needed me.
It's harder when you don't get to talk to your spouse, when my husband deployed this last time he was attached to a SF unit and so they did things like an Actual SF unit. We got 20 hours notice that he was going to deploy and then those 20 hours changed to 10. It makes you really appreciate the little things!!!
I'm not at Riley but my best friend is stationed there! You can do this.
I have learned to do alot of "manly" things on my own. I have 8 brothers so growing up I have learned how to change a tire, how to put a fuel tank into a truck, and anything else they thought would be useful!! It's come in handy alot I remember I was 7 mos pregnant and this lady was stranded at Mcdonalds also pregnant with a flat tire. I got it changed and you know what we're best friends to this day!!
What kind of car problems are you having? There should be someone there that can help you,0
