question about intensity workout levels

I used my new polar ft 60 HRM today. I love it. I do have a question about intensity levels though. My manual says that you burn more calories in zone 3 (high intensity), but it says that you burn a higher fat calorie percentage in the low and moderate intensity levels. After using my HRM today, my HRM says that I have completed my high intensity zone 3 for the week. It says that I need to spend more time in zones 1 and 2 (low to moderate). My question is should I focus on the high intensity workouts to burn more overall calories, or should I focus on balancing out my intensity levels, and work more in the lower intensity levels?

For me, I love interval training. It is fat burning and you only have to do it for 30 min. You do 30 seconds hard then 30 slow or you can mix it up 2 min fast and 1 slow what ever takes your fancy. I wouldn't worry too much about what your heart moniter tells you to do, Just what ever you feel comfortable with.0
