Anyone Carb Cycling?

I was at my goal weight earlier this year but then I let life sidetrack me & I gained 10lbs. I am just now, finally, after several failed attempts, getting serious about my health & fitness again.

I recently read Chris Powell's book on carb-cycling. (Choose to Lose) It was a good read, made sense, and is something that I think will fit into my lifestyle easily. I've only been at it for three days & so far, so good. It's an easy system to stick to, I already feel better and have more energy.

I used to workout alot, but have fallen off track for a few months & feel out of shape. I have some old injuries that flare up easily, so I am easing back into a fitness routine starting with yoga and walking, working up to circuit training soon.

I was just wondering if anyone has some experience with carb-cycling? I used to stick to 1200 calories a day & it worked, but I would always have difficulty with those last few lbs, weight loss was slow, I had trouble fighting off hunger at the end of the night, didn't always have alot of energy.... with carb cycling I definately eat more than 1200 cal, and I guess the "eat more lose more" idea always made sense to me, I was just always afraid to try it!!

I would love to hear any opinions, experiences, tricks, tips, suggestions, insights on carb-cycling. Also, my food diary is open for anyone willing to look at it & tell me if I'm doing it right or not, point out any mistakes, etc.

I dont feel the need to cycle carbs. And you should eat more. 1200 seems to be a magic number, but its not.

I do, however, recommend this carb cycling:

if carb cycling allows you to adhere to a calorie restiction better then use it. If it causes you undo headaches, then dont do it.

At the end of the day thermodynaimcs is still the law.

Yes! Join the CTL group! ;-) Personally, I love the program. It has gotten me out of my high-processed carbs low everything else rut. Using CTL, I'm eating so much healthier each day, and actually are getting nutrition from every food group! Tee Hee!
