Well it's been a while since I have used this site but I'm back and realize the need for keeping track of those calories. It's funny how you think you may be eating well but then load the food information. Reviewing the excess calories along with the high fat intake is a clear answer to the question I have had which was "I have been working out for a while but havne't seen many results". So now that my body is over the initial shock of moving again and I feel progress but just don't see it, I belive the calorie counting is the final piece of the puzzle.

That being said I'm interest in talking with people who are motivated but not finactics and hopefully some people who may eat out a lot. I currently am forced to eat out about 5-7 times a week for dinner so if there are some tips and tricks to keeping the colories down while out I'm all ears.

Best wishes and good luck on your journey.

I had taken a long hiatus from MFP as well, but since I started using the site regularly in September I have been able to make great progress.

If you are forced to eat out, but know the place that you are going you can do what I do for work lunches, if there is a website for the restuarant I first look for the nutrition guide and choose my meal based on that before we go. If there is no nutrition guide, but there is a menu I search the food on MFP for an idea of what I would like that is fairly healthy. If neither option is avaiable I try to choose the lowest cal looking salad and get the dressing on the side (which I often don't use as there are lots of toppings to add flavor to the lettuce)

Hope that helps. Good Luck :drinker:
