Teeth Whitnening - which kit is best?

I would love to start whitening my teeth (coffee and tea drinker, right here) but all of the kits are SO expensive. If they are really effective, it would be worth the money. Anyone have any recommendations of which to buy or which to avoid?

I've also heard baking soda and hydrogen peroxide works as a home remedy, but is not very healthy for your teeth!

Before I head to the store, I figured I'd ask the MFP community! Feel free to weigh in!
