Good workout DVDs for people who aren't already in shape?

I thought about trying Insanity, but from what I hear you have to be in shape already or you'll be utterly miserable doing the workouts. What other workout DVD programs are good buys for people who WANT to get in shape?

All depends on your fitness level.
There's the Jillian Michael DVD's which I'm currently doing. They're a great way to start. The best way to do her DVD's is do a day or two, then rest since her workouts are repetitive and you'll end up injuring yourself starting out working the same muscle groups over & over each day.
There's the P90 & P90X Series from Beachbody. P90 is the supposed to be the predecessor to P90X. P90X is one of the most famous ones available. You work with Tony Horton and his "Muscle Confusion" system. You will workout a different muscle group / do a different type of workout each day for maximizing results.
BeachBody is a great source of information and tools needed to get in shape. Check them out and look at all of their programs to see which one fits you best. You can also check out Amazon's DVD selection, read the reviews and find out which one describes you best.
I'm currently working through the Jillian Michael 30 Day Shred, then plan on progressing to P90X.0 -
I was insanely out of shape when I did Insanity. I did it anyways and just did it at my own pace. By the end my pace just got a lot faster.0

I workout with the Rocking Body series and i LOVE it!!!
Its almost like a Zumba but not really. Its very fun!! He takes simple dance moves and turn then into a workout. And its a FULL body workout!! After like 10 mins(or less depending on the video) I'll be sweating my butt off!! and i'm a person who doesn't break into a sweat very easily.
By doing that video, walking every now and then, and eating rt I lost about 20lbs in roughly 2 months!! Sadly I gained it all back but now im back on the wagon and doing my videos faithfully every morning.0 -
I've done Jillian Michael's and it has worked for me. Just watch the knees, her dvds can stress your knees out. They aren't too hard though, especially 30 day shred for beginners.0

Don't feel you are too "out of shape" to do something. You will progress with time and effort. Everyone has to start somewhere, work your way up.0
