I've been wanting to try the Bodymedia Link Armband so I finally got it at Costco online. They offered 12 month subscription with purchase and it was also on sale for $119 with free shipping.

First day it was a bit confusing how to set it up and stuff but after watching a few youtubes, got it. Plus I have a iPhone 5 and currently it's not compatible but I was able to make it work. Didn't sync up on it's own but worked ok as long as I pressed the sync button on the armband. But they recently updated their app (for the better) but it didn't sync anymore with the iPhone 5 so I would have to upload it onto my computer. Also if you're doing MFP, you only need to enter the food...not the workout.

I wore it for a few days and can get obsessive. I think I was checking it every 10 minutes. lol.

The thing I didn't like was when I worked out, the calories burned didn't match up to my Polar HRM. When I would burn 460 calories on my HRM, it would only say I burned 200 calories. It didn't bother me much since they do give you extra calories burned from your daily activities...but still, that's a big difference. I do like how it tells you how many steps you took so if you didn't walk as much, it did make you move more to meet the goals for the day. I also like how it tells me how I slept BUT, on the third night, it did wake me up from the beeping...maybe I didn't wear it tight enough? Dunno...but that was annoying. Plus wearing it 24/7 can be good and bad....the good is you don't realize you're wearing anything...but sometimes, if you have it on a little tight, it can feel a little constricting on your arm. Also since it's winter, no one realizes I wear it but if it was summer, I'm not sure if I'd want to wear it out everyday.

It's a pretty neat device but I think I'll be returning mine and just go back to using my polar HRC. It's great if you're the obsessive compulsive type...but for me, it was quite distracting. :)
