Sleep defeating the purpose?

Is it okay to nap after a workout? I usually am full of energy after bit I feel my eyes dont want to be open. I got full good sleep last night so its not that I missed out on it. Also keep in mind I went from not working out to working out an hr a day and today is the 6th day in a row. So is my body telling me I need rest? Or should I fight through it?

Not sure of the question. Are you asking if it's okay to sleep?

Take a nap if you can.
  • Yes just wondering if it was counter productive. I get at least 8 hrs and I tak 50mg of melatonin an hr before bed bc I dont produce enough myself so I get a deep sleep. I know sleep is important, but I didnt know if resting immedietly after a workout was deating the purpose

Just to let you know, your body repairs muscles more efficiently during sleep. Exercise is to break down the muscle and rest is where you repair the muscle. Repairing your muscle is where you see the gains and improvements.
