I have this weird problem.
When I was at my goal weight and what I consider "skinny", I had no problem sticking to a diet but exercising everyday became difficult for me to the point where i hated running.
Now, at what is probably my heavy weight, I have no problem running and lifting weights, but I can't seem to stick to a diet.
What should I do?

I'm in the same boat as you are. I would much rather just be more active and continue eating ridiculous crap. But, alas, you can't out exercise a bad diet. When you were "skinny" were you eating very little? That could explain why exercise was difficult.
It would be helpful to know your goals. If your goal is a specific number on the scale, you'll probably just have to tough it out, make some habit changes. But you also said you're lifting weights? Are you doing heavy lifting? If not, you probably should be. You will be able to eat more because lifting requires fuel, and your body will end up looking better than through diet/cardio alone (however, the number on the scale will probably be higher; this should not matter, as you will likely have the body shape/composition that you want).
I know people say diet is the most important thing to get healthy/lose weight. But I say meh. If the diet is hard for you, work on your exercise habit first. That will help get you into the mindset of "healthy." Once you do that for a few months, start fixing up your diet. And if you have specific work out goals that you want to accomplish (run a marathon, deadlift 500 lbs, etc) you'll probably have to fix your diet in order to make that happen.0 -
Maybe when you were skinny, you were too skinny and weren't eating enough, so you didn't have the energy to exercise.
I'd rather eat more, and be happy and energetic.0 -
What exactly is a diet to you? Set reasonable goals that you can adhere to.0

considering we are friends. . .yes I think your caloric intake was too low
try and up it (same food larger portions maybe?) and give it a go. I can't imagine that your "heavy" weight is all that big. Try to focus on bodyfat % instead because you are at a reasonable weight already

I completely understand!! What helps encourage me is setting realistic goals like "Nebulinda" suggested but I've also found being committed to eating healthier & try to have a set time to exercise is a good way to stay on track. Which is easier said than done but each day is a new opportunity to do better.
