I feel I should point out that Moosycakes - the gal with the ridiculously self-defended low calorie, "circling on if not already there" eating disordered habits - is NOT the OP. Moosycakes is not the one who asked for help or whom had any need for clarification about her diet. So she didn't rope this thread in for attention or anything - she really is just sharing her experience (for whatever value that may be.)
That said, I am also very confused - and as time goes on - getting exasperated - with the number of people who "can't hit 1200" but obviously were able to over-eat enough, day after day, to put on 20, 50, or 100 extra pounds. To claim otherwise is just padding the framework used to justify developing unhealthy eating habits.

Try one of my smoothies, you'll easily take in well over 1000 per sitting (or two if you break it for breakfast and say midday). Simply food choice.
I don't really need it for energy or anything. I can't exactly handle a whole smoothie, or a whole lot of fat or sugar (especially fat) at a time.
"can't handle"...what does that even mean?
This is the craziest thread ever...if you "can't handle" the food or whatever, why are you even asking for advice at all? You just say you can't or aren't able to do anything suggested. If you put anything in your mouth at all there are ways to up the calories...so, like a broken record for everyone here I will repeat...olive oil, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, eggs, cheese, etc. etc. You can also eat sesame seeds-they are tiny-you can do it! Salad dressing, dark chocolate and anything else that is calorie dense yet not terribly unhealthy. You don't have to eat a lot of food to meet calorie requirements, just eat different foods.
I didn't ask for advice, I just replied to the thread and got pounced on :P
That's okay though, I know my eating is probably unusual to most people

Of course, I do recommend trying to fit some extra calories in for the OP

BMR 1420
TDEE 1953
Underweight by 14lbs but still in the lower part of normal weight.
Any lower and youll be underweight.
Perfect weight for you is appx 144lbs.
To lose fat you shouldnt go below 1600 due to LBM loss.
You are dieting wrong.

144?! I've never been 144 in my life! Highest I've been would probably be about 134.
What areyou using to figure out that weight? Just curious.

It's a good thing your cycle is fine!
How long have you been eating so low?
Maybe you've reduced BMR so much that you don't need much to survive.
With that said, you've probably also created a set point and this won't lose anymore fat without extreme measures.
Mostly interest in knowing what I eat, a bit for weight loss as well.
I don't know how long, I haven't been tracking for that long
Maybe I'm subconciously training myself for possible world food shortages.
You have no clue what you are doing.
Well at any rate youll have better fat loss at a slight deficit from TDEE.
Thats close to 2k.
My recommendation is seek help fast!
Learn how food works in your system and get help!

Please see an actual Certified Nutritionist/Dietician like I did. The people on here are not doctors or Certified Nutritionist/Dietician. My Certified Nutritionist/Dietician told me to up my calories from 1200 to 1500 but she said not to worry about net calories (post work out calories) I burn around 900 calories a day working out so normally I net around 600. I am always full because I eat very healthy. Do not go out and get a snickers bar to make up your calories. This is crazy!

If you burn 900 cals and net 600 then you should fire the CN! This is why i'm going to school for this crap so people dont come on saying nonsensical crap like this!
If you have a BMR of 1400 and you eat 1400 then burn off 900 cals you arent doing yourself any favors!0 -
I have hit that point in the past as well. I would workout, eat low calorie foods and be stuffed at the end of the day. I figured as long as I was around 900 I was ok. I never got sick or hurt from it. It really just didn't make sense to force myself to eat. I say listen to your body and eat when you're hungry. Sometimes I would be ready for food later at night. I also noticed that I tended to have less of an apetite, especially for junk, on the days I worked out really well.
I have to add: yes I am here to lose weight and I did get overweight from eating crap that wasn't any good for me and not understanding what a true portion is as well as being pregnant and having a stupid thyroid. After a couple of weeks of working really hard at cutting my portions and drinking 4 times more water my stomach comes to a point where there's no more room. Also we are all a little different. Some people are smaller, meaning their insides are smaller too, and so no matter how hard they try they just aren't going to eat the same amount as someone else.0 -
Not everyone CAN eat 1200 a day. I been at this for 10 months & am still unable to eat that on most days. Some days, take my exercise into it (600 cals some days in one workout) and I can barely NET 400 cals.
I don't understand how people have this magic number that EVERYONE must eat. Some people just don't like food that much & CAN be ok on that. Not everyone feels the need to have peanut butter or nuts (those that are allergic cant) and not everyone can have some of the other things suggested. Those with gluten problems cant eat a whole heap of 'normal' things either. ALl of this greatly reduces what people can eat.
There is no magic 1200 cal a day minimum. Everyone is different & as long as they are not skin & bones & are FULL by the end of the day... then what the hell does a number mean?

I cant hit 1200, and i gained lots of weight.. but i was forced to lay in a bed, unable to move because of strokes that affected my body due to blood clots to my brain... not because i over ate more than 1200 calories a day. Just like 1200 isnt a magic number for all of us.. not all of us stuffed *kitten* into our mouths to get fat either.0 -

Dan, I've seen some of your posts and you seem quite knowledgeable, but how on earth did you end up with a single value for a "perfect weight"? That can't be right. It's reasonable to give a range, but saying "about 144 is perfect for you" doesn't make sense. What is the program you use?
To Moosycakes, one comment: you seem to have accepted that you're just a "small eater", can't handle much fat, sugar etc and think that's normal for you. Have you checked with a doctor and/or a nutritionist? I'd personally do that.

Then depending on current weight it will tell me if the subject is Underweight, overweight, Obese, Obese II, Obese III and up.
It gives waist to height ratios as well as appx highest and lowest fat metabolism numbers.
It can be set for single caloric goals or cyclical dieting.0 -

I'd be skeptical about that. I can't tell what exactly it calculates and of course that doesn't mean the values it gives do not fall in reasonable ranges, but I bet it restricts them unnecessarily.0
