Hey Everybody!
I heard that Green Tea Extract pills are really good for weight loss as well as other health benefits. I was wondering if this was true? Does anybody else take them? Have you had any luck with them?
Any advice on this would be great!
Also wondering how much I should take if I decide to take them with my vitamins!

You can take them if you want expensive pee.....but that is all. Green tea, which is high in anti-oxidants, can be a health benefit, but the weight loss impact is negligible. Eat at a deficit and exercise, only 2 things that work.0

You'd be better off drinking actual Green Tea as oppose to spending money on overpriced capsules which contain additives perseveration and gelatin (the capsule) and who knows what...
I drink natural Green Tea and I am enjoying the benefits
Try it it's better than pills!!!0 -
Actually homemade green tea contains a tiny fraction of the active polyphenols (antioxidants) of standardised green tea extract in capsule form so you would need to drink a fair bit to get the benefits. IIRC the benefits for weight management are around 70 or 80 calories a day, so it will take a long time to impact weight loss (1 pound of fat is 3500 calories).
There are many other antioxidants research suggests may boost fat loss - those found in certain berries, citrus fruits and certain spices for example. IMO the most sensible thing to do is eat your nine portions of bright/ dark coloured fruits and vegetables a day in the full rainbow of colours (red, yellow/ orange, green, blue/ purple) plus adding chilli, spices and garlic to your meals rather than put your faith in one 'superfood'.0 -
You lose weight by eating less and doing more. There's no magic pill.0
