so i was thinking tonight for my snack i would put 2 tortillas into pieces and heat them in the oven for a few mins, and have some salsa...my question is, would i need to put anything on the tortillas like salt or OO?

this snack would be under 300 cals. 210 for 2 tortillas and 10cals for 2tbs of salsa

Nope. Not unless you want to. I usually spray them with cooking spray, sprinkle some garlic powder on them, and then bake them. You can also make similar chips with ground cinnamon instead of garlic... but you'd probably want to skip the salsa on the cinnamon chips!
  • There is a recipe similar to this in the biggest looser food swaps. What I do is take 2 yellow corn tortillas (80 calories), spray them with olive oil spray, and sprinkle with salt. Bake on 350 for 30 minutes or till you are happy. Super easy chips, yummy and you know exactly how many calories you are taking. The actual recipe calls for true lime and chilli powder, but I can't handle those spices. Good luck!

you don't need to do anything other than what you're doing. (you might need more than 2 tbs salsa for 2 tortillas though) beans would be a great addition for the protein! are you just dipping the chips in the salsa or are you putting the salsa on the chips and serving? if you're dipping, I'd leave them unseasoned. if you're putting the salsa on top, I'd add a little bit of cumen and a touch of garlic. if you've got paprika or chili powder you can use that to taste. if you have chipotle or any other good peppers you should use those too.
