Would 5 days off the wagon ruin your progress?

Okay, so I was doing very good for a few weeks, but then the past 5-6 days I haven't worked out or watch my calories. (although I stay away from super fatty foods, and fast food.) Would those 5 days have negated my two weeks of working out/watching calories here on MFP? If so, that's awful. II will get back on track today.

Possibly, but you're back now and that's what counts..not quitting. Good luck :)

I took off the 4 days around Thanksgiving and it didn't push me back at all. I didn't go crazy and eat everything in site but I did endulge like I haven't done since my trip to Europe in April.

As you go on more and more if you have times like that where you aren't as stringent just remember that it's a lifestyle change and you have to enjoy your life.

Also another thing is if you aren't going to log then at least make a conscious effort to reign in portion sizes. That helped me alot over thanksgiving.

Depends how far "off the wagon" you went and how much progress you made leading up to it. If you were over your TDEE by 1000 cals each day, that's 5000 surplus cals, or roughly 1.75lbs of gained weight. If you were under your TDEE by 1000 cals for the 2 week leading up to it, that's 14,000 cals, or about 4lbs of lost weight. Just to give you some context.

At the end of the day though, it doesn't matter. What you did yesterday you can't undo. All you can do is move forward. It's about the big picture... what you do over months and years, not what you do over days and weeks.

That's gospel right there. Well said Jackson.

Nope, I went to Bali for a week in September - and there was NO WAY I was logging on a tropical holiday.

Did not affect my goal at all (had put on 200g when I got home, but it went away quickly once I started logging again)
