Red Lobster Burger

I was at Red Lobster for lunch and decided that I was going to get the Wood-Grilled Burger. This came with French Fries. When I got back to my computer I was shocked at the nutritional information of the meal.

So the closest thing I can find is Red Lobster Grilled Burger (From Web Page) which comes in at a whopping 1170 calories....ouch. Does that number include the fries or would that be separate?

Dang I was hoping it was together that means another 330 for the fries and another 150 for a biscuit. Brings me to a whopping 1650 for lunch today. That is very painful.

I usually check the nutritional chart for te restaurant before I go it or I ask the server a lot of questions such as size of the patty, type of bread, and may I have the condiments on the side. They should have had a light menu items section on the menu or ask which dishes are considered light.

Now you know--do not order a burger in a fish house and do not order pasta in a fish house. That's a heck of a total!

Luckily, in NY it is state law that chain restaurants have to post the calories on their menus. It makes eating out very easy.

If I eat in NJ where my boyfriend lives, I look everything up on my phone or Kindle before i order. wi-fi makes these things easy

I didn't know Red Lobster sold burgers. That's an interesting choice, OP.

    *goes to check website*

In fact, I just checked, and the Red Lobster in my town does not sell burgers at all. Besides seafood, the only option is steak. I can't believe that it wouldn't include the fries in the total calories. And next time, get the lobster. They are known for their lobster there.

Yeah I usually check sites before going but it was a last minute thing to go there. If I would have known it was going to be that bad I would have ran away from it like the plague.

Lesson learned - in a restaurant filled w/low cal choices (seafood) don't order the burger. I know the woodfire makes it alluring and healthier sounding, but no.

I live in WA where they post nutritional info - it is Fabulous. Except only chains have to do it, not the smaller places where I eat at most often.

How often do you actually go out? Unless you're hitting up Red Lobsters and other restaurants every day or every other day, I don't think you should freak out over one lunch. You can't turn back time- if you wanna do something about it, go for a walk!

As long are you're not eating 1,000+ calorie lunches everyday, I see no reason to ruin the enjoyment of your meal.
