Hey guys! I'm Emjay, i'm 21, from London England. I'm in my 3rd year of Pharmacy school and I am under so much stress 96.5% of the time lol. I've gained 20 pounds over the last 3 years :( and it's because I'm a stress eater.

Being in Pharmacy school is hard because of the constant exams, tests, practicals.. yerr they stresssss me out! and when I panic, when i'm anxious, or when i'm stressed out, I eat! Alot! it's bad because, when i am NOT stressed, I eat well and exercise BUTTT when i get stressed out, I dont have time to exercise and I dont have time to eat healthily, so end up eating rubbish and gaining weight. :(

Are any of you stress eaters? How do you manage your stress? any advice will be appreciated!!
Also, you can add me as a friend aswell, so we could support each other from time to time.
thanks guys! :]

Hello, I am also a stress eater and have recently found away to manage it a littl better....yoga is one it allows u to focus on being calm and the controlled breathing is theraputic. The newest thing I'm trying is actually don't laugh but hypno sessions on mp3 u can find some sessions for free on line between 30 minutes as little as 15 minutes. surprising I feel more focused and in more control. My last thing I'm a stress/benger I eat when I'm happy sad or stressed but anyways on my way home where I know I will attempt to eat everything in sight I will chew on cinnamon gum. That is all I have good luck....oh exercise is a great stress reliever I recommend kick boxing.

I'm a stress/emotional eater, and I've found a two-fold approach that has really helped me.

    1. I've tried to remove "food" from feelings and stress has helped me. For example, now I treat my food like a project or a checkbook: I don't wanna overspend my budget. When I think of it strictly in terms of numbers, it really helps.

    2. If I totally blow out and eat a pile of junk food (which is still delicious, I admit, but BAD!!), I feel like I've lost control of myself after, and then that stresses me out MORE. So I try to remember BEFORE that by controlling what I can (like my calories), I cut down on extra stress later.

If I do these two things, even if I'm stressed or upset, I can say at the end of the day, "Well, I did everything I could from my end!" and feel a sense of accomplishment.
