Is this right? Ridiculous amount of calories to eat

hey y'all today I decided to see how many calories a day I should eat for doing insanity. I calculated it to be 2814?! There is NO way I could eat that much a day! I'm pretty sure I'd gain weight if I started eating that many.. Did anyone else get a really high calorie calculation and actually eat it? I'm currently on day 8 and lost 3lb on week 1. Should I do what I'm doing or go with the book??

    3 pounds a week is a lot! maybe just slowly add calories until you are at a comfortable loss every week.

    You don't need to eat exercise calories back and if this is the beginning of your diet it's not uncommon to lose a lot of water weight the first week or two.

    No. Only an athlete (or one in training) should eat like that. Do as the others suggested and don't eat your exercise calories back.
