Asians eat a bowl (like 1.5 to 2 cups) of white rice EVERYDAY, usually 3 times a day. If I didn't eat oatmeal instead of rice in the morning it would be like 350g+ of carbs. I have some fat but I'm asian, i need my rice??? There is really nothing else but rice and side dishes...and I have some oatmeal..If I still lived in my country I would be consuming rice 3 times a day. Or noodles.
(If you look at my diary I've eaten quite a lot of sweet potatoes these past few days lol that usually doesn't happen)

Try switching to brown rice because white rice is a fairy new 'invention', you didn't evolve to eat that and is effectively sugar without the nutritious germ and fibre. Carbs are not the devil if you eat a diet that is balanced and nutrient dense and you do an appropriate amount of exercise - remember traditional diets in most countries fuelled manual labour for much of the population so sometimes portion sizes or macro ratios need to be adjusted.0

Depends on your weight and goals but 330g+ of carbs is not unusual for me on a workout day. But definitely stay away from white rice. My wife is Asian and we eat mostly an Asian diet. We use organic brown rice, sometimes mixed with some beans and chickpeas. I'll easily eat 1.5-2 cups of rice for one meal of the day, but balanced with lots of veggies. That's the key thing I observed in Asia - people tend to eat many more veggies at a meal than a typical American family.
Sweet potatoes are great! I prefer the Korean variety.0 -
It's a lot, yeah. I'd consider anything over 250g/day more than average.
I usually do about 150g/day. If i get under 100g then that's a "low carb" day for me.0 -
I have some fat but I'm asian, i need my rice???
why would you "need" rice?
isn't this like saying americans "need" McDonalds?
there is no one specific food that anyone has to have. you need protein, fat and some carbs. You don't actually have to have carbs to stay alive, but it makes life easier and more enjoyable.
330 g of carbs a day sounds appropriate only if you are bulking (trying to gain weight)0 -
white rice is fine but 330 grams a day is a lot, especially if you are lacking protein. I'd cut the rice to once a day.0

There's nothing else in my house but rice and some side dishes. Lol. and some oatmeal that I bought so I don't have to eat rice 3 times a day.0 -
