Low Sugar

Hi. Anyone else on a low sugar eating regime? (doctors advice due to high triglyceriades).

    I go over on MFP's sugar numbers everyday but it's mainly from all the fruits I eat! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! :smile: :love: :flowerforyou: :smokin: :devil: :drinker:

    Yes! For pcos. Off all meds for it now thanks to my diet.

    yes becasue I have to be if I want to increase my fitness (running etc) and build lean muscle mass. Sugars from fruits are not really a concern to your health, becasue they occur naturally. It is the sugars in sodas, cakes etc that you have to watch and these are added sugars. I saw on Livestrong.com that for a male, you should consume no more than 40g of ADDED sugar per day, don't know for female. I was told though not eat to much fruit at night. But YES some days I go over and its ok to splurge a little bit!

    I am, I try to eat 35g at most a day, I do not eat fruit very much either...i'd rather veggies over fruit anyday

    I put sugar on my apples. That way it's still fruit sugar and I can eat all I want.

    I have a question - I thought that carbs in general were supposed to be moderated if you have high triglycerides, not sugar specifically, but could be wrong here.
