I never thought I will say that but I need to prove someone wrong.
OK, quick update.
I work with the person who is all talk and no action. He is a chef 37 years old and I'm his helper. We work together 4/5 evenings a week in a hotel's restaurant. Anything I do he wants to do it better.
Last year I started dieting, he said to me I'm going to fail again. I didn't - I've lost 40lbs so far.
I started cycling on a road bike, just the cheap one. Couple of weeks after he bought a mountain bike and paid £600 for his. Obviously started showing off what a great bike he's got.
He is very overweight and since I started my lifestyle change he started dieting aswell. He started around 8 times, lost a stone ish and put all that back on! And started again etc....
I've joined a gym a couple of weeks ago. Told my workmates about it and what happens?? Chef has joined the same gym on Wednesday!! FfS!!!
Ok here is where I need your help!
I've joined the competition in February.
It's called MUD RUNNER and it's dualthlon. It's 10k run, 20k cycling and 3k run.
At the moment I will fail I know that.
But I need your wise words and comments how I can get to train for this?? It is over 2 months to do it.
I have around 4 hours a day to excersise.
The Chef is making comments on facebook about me not being ready for it and I will never make it alive to finish line. He is writing it in really sarcastic way - not helpful way. I removed him from my friends. I don't need jeleaus people as my friends.
All I want to do is to finish the race. I don't mind coming last.
Any ideas how to prepare??
Thank you :-)

Well I have not the slightest idea how to train for a race of any type, but one word of advice,if you believe you will fail then you will so stop talking like that. Also, stop sharing any information regarding weight loss or getting fit with this person.0

Is this the same thing?

No suggestions, but will say that if you want it, you can do it. Try posting under Fitness and see if someone responds?0

I also know nothing about training, but it sounds like this guy is trying to make himself feel better about something by putting you donw. Don't put up with that. Stop sharing with him, you don't need that kind of attitude around you. You got this!!! Keep your head up and finish that damn race.0

Unless it's motivating to you to do what he says you can't, ignore him. If this is just your own personal challenge, go for it.
Getting ready for the competition is a competition all by itself. Figure out your time frame for getting ready for the race. Test your current fitness level to see what you can do right now. Make yourself an exercise plan that pushes your abilities more and more every week, but still gives your body a chance to rest and rebuild itself. If you have the money for it, a personal trainer might be the way to go. If you have less money, there are online coaching services you can try. If you have no money, see if you can find a website that will give you advice about stepping up your workout to meet your challenge. I know there are couch to 5-k programs available online... so maybe you can find one for the race you're interested in as well.
Good luck!0
