Why am I so tired? :yawn: Granted it's been quite a while since I've worked out on a regular basis, but I thought hitting the gym again would give me more energy. I've started working out 4+ times a week and lately I'm finding myself taking naps and/or sleeping longer at night. Anyone else experience this?

I felt like that at the beginning too (but, as my husband pointed out, I overdid it too). Maybe you should start with 3 times a week, or ( I don´t know what you do there) working a lower level on the machine. Also, are you taking in enough calories, hope you are not trying to starve yourself while working out a lot.
Slow start, working your way up and a good diet is the best idea, if you exhaust yourself and are tired and hungry all the time then it is much easier to just trow in the towel and give up
I think it is normal to feel tired after upping the workout load (the day after) but you shouldn´t feel like that every day/night

Before I did the proper research on how many calories to eat, I was eating 1210 and was EXHAUSTED. Now I'm 1430 and I feel just fine! (oh and still losing weight)0

My BMR is a little over 1800 and my TDEE is 2200. I've been taking in around 1600 everyday and there has only been a couple of days where I didn't eat back my exercise calories.0 -
Yup. I had that too.
It's good in that you sleep better, but you shouldn't feel tired ALL the time, like I was too.
I upped my calorie intake by changing my settings to "Moderately Active"
I am feeling much more energetic, I keep on losing the pounds,
and I'm getting more out of my workout because I have more energy to put into it.
I think you should up your intake to 1800, at least.0 -
Try eating 1800-1900 and see if you don't feel better, and still lose weight.0

Sleep is fine. Usually get 7-8 hours but lately it's been really hard to get up and/or I go to sleep earlier than usual. Nutrition could be better, not going to lie. I take a multivitamin to try to make up for what my diet lacks.0 -
It sounds like a few more calories and perhaps a little more nourishment within those calories and you might see a difference.
If you don't, you may want to consider talking to a doctor because your fatigue sounds a little more severe than normal, and in absence of any other explanation, may be the result of something unseen occurring.0 -

I would agree. I felt really tired when I wasn't eating enough calories. Also, remember- not all calories are created equal! Staying within your calorie deficit while eating healthy veggies and lean meats vs eating processed foods is not the same. And if your body needs rest, let it rest. Nothing wrong with that0 -
Lack of B vitamins and need for sleep is what usually promotes the feeling of tiredness. Perhaps increase the B vitamins and if it keeps you from sitting and watching TV sleep actually burns more calories than watching TV... about 25% more calories.0

It takes me 2-3 weeks to adjust to a change in schedule and/or activity level before I start to feel my energy levels balance out.
