routines: strong lifts, new rules of lifting for women, starting strength by mark rippetoe or olympic lifts

these are basically movements that work multiple muscle groups at once. examples are squats, snatches, pull ups, bench presses, deadlifts, overhead presses, pendlay rows, cleans

so for instance barbell squats work your quads, glutes, hams, hips as well as your core, upper back and shoulders

Squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press.

If you look into stronglifts, or wendler 5/3/1, or madcow you'll have a great start on routines based on these exercises.

i like 5/3/1 myself. check out strstd.com, which can help you figure out the amount you should lift, and your supplement work.
