Drink whatever lo/zero call drink you feel like, same difference. If you like natural, drink one of the natural suggestions, if you like chemical and easily found drinks, do that. No difference in the long run.

But fruit in your water. I swear by it. My favorites are cucumbers, and lemon/limes, and strawberries. Just get a big jug, fill it with water, add your fruit, let it steep for a few hours in the fridge, and VOILA, flavored water with little-to-no calories. :) Just be sure to keep the water cold-ish, or the water gets kind of a bad taste.

:D I agree!!! I have a pitcher with an infuser thing. I have yet to try it, but I am planning to do it with strawberries!

I made a post similar to this, ppl told me that flavored water has artificial sweeteners which are bad for you :( So im sticking with water/tea with honey(you can add lots of ice to it and make ice tea)/pomegranate juice(watered down since is so strong) :D

Water isn't supposed to be exciting in taste, just hydrating in purpose. That's all my body cares about!

I balked at lemon slices in water until I actually tried it. But then, lemons are a pain in the butt ((to me)) to keep stocked, sliced, washing knife, etc, etc....My family drinks sugar free walmart brand lemonade. I make my tall cup of ice water and leave a 1/2 inch at the top to add a splash of the lemonade. :) Voila. Just enough flavor to take out the plain water, and not so much that you are drinking something other than water. :)

For me, like so many other things, it was a matter of small progress. I used to never drink water, pretty much only soda. So I set up a progress plan where every week, I made another step.

1: Replace half my soda with carbonated water, like San Pellegrino. Do this until I'm down to 1 soda per week.
2: Wash down my morning vitamins with water
3: Have one glass of water at night before I go to bed
4: Add a glass of water with my lunch
5: Add a glass of water with my dinner
6: Have a glass of water after every workout
7: Have a glass of water with breakfast
8: Have a glass of water after lunch
9: Have a glass of water after dinner

Now I'm up to 8 cups and I never really hated it. Didn't have to add anything. By the end my body was craving water throughout the day, and it became easier and easier to drink more and more. Maybe a gradual progress plan will work for you?

  • I read bong water in the title.

Also, stevia sweetened juice mix is GREAT. No sugar, no artificial cancer or formaldehyde producing sweeteners. Stevia is natural. Great stuff. <3

    Are you boring (http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/11/15/are-you-boring/)

    For most people…

Eating the same healthy meals on a regular basis is boring.

Getting stronger with squats, pull ups, and push ups is boring.

Going for a simple walk every morning is boring.

Going to bed and getting up on time is boring.

Understanding that eating right is 80% of the battle is boring.

Saying no to sweets, politely declining desert, and skipping office candy is boring.

Doing the same thing, day in and day out, for months and months, is boring.

    So…health companies make things exciting!

    Shake Weight

There are new miracle foods each week that promise to banish belly fat!

There are daily articles telling you the five easy tips for fast weight loss!

There are new DVDs with killer workouts and muscle confusion that target your abs and thighs!

There are magazines with new workout plans and diet plans that change every week!

There are technologically advanced shoes that promise to tone your posterior!

And for those people that love these exciting things, they get to be excited for the next best thing each week.

And for those people that love these exciting things, they get to stay unhealthy, chasing the next cure.
    Boring isn’t very marketable

Boring does not sell magazine subscriptions, advertisements, or DVDs. Boring is silent, unwavering progress.

Boring is sticking to the same routine week after week, month after month.

Boring means not freaking out when stepping on the scale and the number is slightly off.

Boring means making small, repeated improvements to an otherwise unmoving and determined schedule.

Boring is replacing grand declarations of drastic change with tiny habit changes over long periods of time.
So what happens when you get good at boring?

    Saint embraced boring:

    Staci kicked some boring *kitten*:

    Joe rocked at being boring:

    Boring leads to weight loss.

Boring leads to strength and power.

    Boring leads to increased productivity.

Boring leads to success and habit change that actually stick.

    Boring actually works.

Sometimes, boring can be f***ing awesome.

This is one of those times.

    Go be boring.

I drink water most of the time, but sometimes I do add Crystal Light to a 1 Liter bottle of water (Crystal Light is too sweet so I double the water) with real lemon juice, especially on the weekends, since that when it seems hardest for me to drink enough.

Sobe Life Water 0 has a pretty long ingredient list for being considered as water replacement...

I'm a big fan of flavored seltzer--in the Northeast it's usually the Polar brand--calorie-, sodium-, sugar-, and caffeine-free. (And no, I don't count it as water.)

    I.

From fairest creatures we desire increase,
That thereby beauty's rose might never die,
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory:
But thou contracted to thine own bright eyes,
    Feed'st thy light's flame with self-substantial fuel,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thy self thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel:
Thou that art now the world's fresh ornament,
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buriest thy content,
And, tender churl, mak'st waste in niggarding:
Pity the world, or else this glutton be,
To eat the world's due, by the grave and thee.

    II.

When forty winters shall besiege thy brow,
And dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field,
Thy youth's proud livery so gazed on now,
Will be a totter'd weed of small worth held:
Then being asked, where all thy beauty lies,
    Where all the treasure of thy lusty days;
To say, within thine own deep sunken eyes,
Were an all-eating shame, and thriftless praise.
How much more praise deserv'd thy beauty's use,
If thou couldst answer 'This fair child of mine
Shall sum my count, and make my old excuse,'
Proving his beauty by succession thine!
This were to be new made when thou art old,
And see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.

    III.

Look in thy glass and tell the face thou viewest
    Now is the time that face should form another;
Whose fresh repair if now thou not renewest,
Thou dost beguile the world, unbless some mother.
For where is she so fair whose uneared womb
Disdains the tillage of thy husbandry?
Or who is he so fond will be the tomb
Of his self-love, to stop posterity?
Thou art thy mother's glass and she in thee
    Calls back the lovely April of her prime;
So thou through windows of thine age shalt see,
Despite of wrinkles, this thy golden time.
But if thou live, remembered not to be,
Die single and thine image dies with thee.

I told Plain Water, "it's not you... it's me" and left her for a chick named Crystal Light (and her cousins). I still have a soft spot for Plain Water and see her on the side cuz Crystal and I aren't exclusive.

To shake up the routine a bit, sometimes we'll have a threesome! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: You'd be surprised how well they get along!

Why not take a pitcher of water and cut up lemons, limes, cucumbers or oranges and put it n there? The flavors will infuse the water and it will taste good without the added chemical crap. I love lemon water and cucumber water. It is very refreshing.

I do understand the water haters- because a long time ago I was that way too. They have simply replaced a bare essential need with associating it with a flavor. And soda addicts feel they are replacing soda with it.
Water is water- by itself its own essential pure form that we all need. Don't think of "this or that" if you want your soda- have it, but think of it as addition to, because you need it!! MFP wouldn't put it as a recommendation on the diary to log otherwise

Add lemons, limes, mint leaves etc to make it more interesting. Usually with flavored water there is some sugar substitute in it to make it taste sweet. If you read articles about this they say they can make you put on more weight in the long run than real sugar

^^This is a good idea! It grows on you, plain water. I NEVER thought I would put down the Crystal Light and Snapple, but I did. Besides a half a diet Sierra Mist with dinner, I drink water all day every day. which is why I must always know where the bathroom is wherever I go lol.

I got tired of ruining my teeth with citric acid, drinking sugary drinks, and pumping myself full of chemicals. I think I started adding lemon to my water and from there it just became easier to just drink water.

peas have a very distinctive taste. some like them, some don't. that is personal preference.

but water has no taste (if it does have a taste then it is contaminated by something)

not liking water is an attitude not a preference based on taste

Crystal Light and other similar flavorings are nothing but chemicals that you do not want to be putting in your body. I just bought a water bottle called Flavour It and it has an insert that you put whatever you want in it to flavor the water. It's awesome. I have been putting cucumber and mint in mine, but the possibilities are endless.

Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it is not an issue for others. For many that is exactly why they don't like it. It is boring and has no flavor.
