Maybe try to bribe him with a tasty treat? Or wear something shiny that'll get his attention. My bird from way back when would always crawl onto my shoulder to examine and peck at my $2 earrings, haha!
  • you have to be careful with the slightly larger parrots as their bites can REALLY hurt, so trying to make him do anything won't work too good (unlike the smaller parrots like cockateils and parakeets). He obviously lost some trust with the wing clipping, so you're just going to have to patiently get back into his good graces. Treats, talking to him as often as you see him (in the goofy pet voice we all use when something is cute, they eat it up), and handle him as much as you can, or as much as he'll let you. These particular birds are super smart, as far as birds go, so you'll need to remember that he needs a little time to remember why he ever called you "friend".

Be patient and calm, they pick up on your feelings. Some greys won't speak but do sounds. I have a grey who is 14 years old, she talks up a storm, just from living with us. I will respond to her when she talks. This morning one of the cats made a ruckus in a different room, and Rachel, my grey said " What in the world is that?" Made me laugh.
Do research on gaining your birds trust back.
