  • Many people will say that it is scientifically impossible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. And for the most part I agree with them. There are cases where beginners will lose fat and build muscle at the same time though, but for advanced lifters it is practically impossible. In any case, you definitely want to continue to lift and get plenty of protein and healthy fats.

The more you cut, the more your muscle definition will start to show through.

I get it, you want to lose weight and be somewhat muscular, that's what I wanted a few years ago, and have achieved that goal. When I first started I also started lifting weights as part of my journey as well as getting my diet in line and after a few months I was more muscular and went down a few inches on my waist, so I did build muscle and lose weight. That did stop however, but I did know about the mechanism behind it's, so it was no big deal. Basically, just get your diet down properly and lift like a mofo and you'll be fine. I dropped about 60 lbs over the last 4 years dropping from 225 to 180 and I'm now 192 and I'm around 12% body fat and I was under 10 a few times, but that was just too much work for me. Anyway don't complicated it, just work hard at the gym and eat in a deficit. Good luck mate.
