At 34 I am just learning to count calories and trying to workout. I have bought gym memberships in the past but never know what to do when I am there. I am trying to workout at home and trying to change my diet. Any tips/ advice on where to begin would be much appreciated. I am a little overwhelmed by all the information out there. Thanks.

There is rather a lot of (sometimes conflicting) information isn't there?!

Food -wise...I'm not in the best position to give good advice at the moment since my willpower has left the building...! Other than always always ALWAYS eat breakfast, check food labels (low fat can mean high sugar or no taste...!) and don't eat in front of the TV or you'll mindlessly eat more...can't be just me who does that!

Exercise: What do you like doing? Do you like lifting weights, running, swimming, walking, dancing....? If you find something you think you'll like, it'll be easier to stick to. I personally love running and get quite ratty when I can't get out for a few miles! It also motivates me tto do strength training (which I hate) because I know it's for the greater good...i.e. better running!

    Good luck!
