Hi All - I've read lots of info on how important it is to do weights to lose fat. For the first three months of MFP I've done only cardio. Oh a few weights half-heartedly, but pretty hard cardio. Starting SL 5x5 but still love my cardio workouts.
I haven't peeled off the weight like I used to when I was younger, and am stuck around 298 these days. Today I did a couple of tests to estimate VO2 Max, which involve your heart rate and your age. In the resting test, it estimated 48 ml/Kg/min and in the three minute step test estimated 60ml/Kg/min.
For a 57 year old male that's supposed to be "Excellent" to "Superior" .... Yay! NSV!
The site I used is here: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/vo2max-calculator.aspx
