My husband popped the baby question on me today!!!
After discussing it, we have decided that we will be trying for baby #1 in March. March is the month we are picking, because that is one more pill pack for me (91 day pack). If we were to get pregnant shortly after, we would be early on in the pregnancy for our move to North Carolina in June. I want to stick with one doctor there throughout the pregnancy instead of starting with one here in Maine, then moving.
So my question is... How long after you stopped your BC did you find out you were pregnant?
Any advice is MORE than welcome!

First time (twins)...19 months. I was scheduled to see a specialist and got pregnant right before. Second time...while on the pill. Go figure. But I was older than you for both my pregnancies.0

First, congratulations! Babies are a blessing. Second, I really don't want to scare you, but if March is the month you picked, stop the pills now and let your body adjust. Too many of my friends and family members lost their first after using the pill for many years. I'm not saying that It will happen, but it's better to be safe and know that your are doing everything in your power to have a healthy pregnancy. Good Luck.0

i dont have proof but my first ultrasound i was 3 weeks, they saw 2 specs(way to early to determine if it was eggs or or cysts or shadows) i had bleeding for 4 months in the beginning, i think it was twins so there might be some truth to the pill and miscarriage,0 -

March is just the month we decided to go off any kind of BC. We don't want to come off sooner, because we do not want to be too far along when we transfer from Maine to North Carolina in June.0 -
I stopped the pill and it took one full month for all the hormones to get out of my system. I got pregnant the second month with both girls. Good luck!0

Most doctors suggest being off the pill for 3 months before trying. It gives your body time to regulate out. I have had 5 kids so I do know a little. Good luck!0

My friend just had the very same thing happen. She is now 13.5 weeks along with a healthy baby. I'm aware of bad things that can happen. I just had a obgyn appointment not long ago, and the doctor and I discussed anything and everything that can happen with pregnancies.0 -
Finished my pills, had that months, TOM. Had another TOM, and that was all she wrote. Of course, we were actively trying NOT to get pregnant as we had 4 kiddos already (3 from his 1st marriage, 1 from mine.) But, God knew we needed baby #5. . .he's AWESOME! On a side note, it took me 2 years to get pregnant with my daughter. We weren't trying, but we didn't actually try to prevent it either.... Each pregnancy can take on a life of it's own. But, cherish each step of the way. It's a gift to be able to have babies and they are amazing/challenging/rewarding little creatures!!0

I don't have any advice. Just stopping by to say HOW EXCITING!! Best of luck to the both of you :flowerforyou:0

I would say use some other form for at least a month after. I've had 4 pregnancies and 3 children. No BC with my first (oops), 2nd took about six months and all went well. 3rd, I got pregnant right away and miscarried at 8 weeks. 4th, was pregnant about 2 months after miscarriage and all went well. Not saying it couldn't happen right away and everything go right, but just to be safe, give your body a month or two after to adjust (like the other person mentioned). A lot less traumatic.
Best of luck to you, you sound very excited!!0 -
I got pregnant on the very first cycle after coming off of the pill.0

With my first baby there wasn't any prevention. She just happened. The second one was planned. I went off the pill and was pregnant two months later. The third was a huge oops. I messed up on my pill, took the last one on October 28th and had a positive home pregnancy test on November 7th. Yep just 10 days later. He is ten now. I wouldn't change any of them. Good luck on your future pregnancy. I absolutely LOVED being pregnant with all three of them.0
