Gaining weight, not losing

Ok, so my Sw was 146, lowest weight was 133 now fluctuating136- 138. I have been busting my butt doing insanity, not snacking much late at night, tracking food... I can tell in all my clothes I've lost weightand progress pictures. I know muscle weighs more then fat. I've also been told that you won't really get muscle doing Insanity. I'm very frustrated and sometimes feel like just giving up. I won't, I've come too far. I will finish my insanity, have just a few weeks left. Then I will start p90 in January.
Anyone one else Gain during Insanity or other programs??? Thanks.

As long as you're losing inches and look better in photos I wouldn't be worried, sometimes you can gain small amounts of muscle if you're doing new exercises, known as newbie gains.
I've never gained weight while during a certain routine but I've had a a couple weeks where I've dieted and gymmed like usual only for no weight loss or even a small gain, normally it evens itself out after a few weeks. I'd weight yourself monthly instead of weekly for a test period, just to make sure that the weight is ultimately going down.0 -
"for me" when I plateaued, I brought my protein up, carbs down to a 50/30/20 ratio and that seems to bust through my barrier. even during P90X for a 4 week period didn't lose a pound but lost inches.0

Hmm, thanks. May have to try cutting carbs. Damn it, I love potatoes.0

Dont be frustrated...I can tell you the Insanity and the P90 is why you continue to fluctuate with your weight. These type of exercises are interval training and are made to build muscle. Muscle weight more than fat. So as you slim down the fat, you are building more muscle mass. Once you complete the Interval training and go back to your regular cadio, you will see the difference. Also, be sure that you are weigting yourself at the same time each time you weigh and that you have not consumed alot of water, which plays a big role in the weight.
Kick the frustration to the curve and continue moving.

Yes! I gained a couple at first while doing insanity. But stay with it girl! You'll see progress in endurance, strength, and flexibility. All good things0

I maintained on P90X as far as weight, which was my goal, but lost 3% body fat in the 3 months. How tall are you?0

Felecia, lost 22 pounds on P90X solely while drinking 8-11 glasses of water a day. 80% is in the Kitchen. Carbs are usually the biggest factor..0

Also, since starting P90X and now in round 2 of ChaLEAN Extreme, I've had my macros set to 40 carbs, 40 protein, 20 fat (although I eat closer to 40 carbs, 30 protein, 30 mostly good fat) and that seems to be working well for me as well. I'm 134 right now and am eating roughly 110-150g of protein a day, which is really helping with my goal of building muscle and helping with soreness, as well.0

^^ Have to agree here...it's both nutrition and exercise! And carbs aren't the enemy but I've found better results since cutting carbs to 40%0 -
I think you should just go by how your clothes fit and not what the scale says!0

@ Robyn and @ felicia you look great! You are right Gwen but there's just something about reaching my goal weight!0

Join the club! I gained a couple of pounds this week too, which I had lost after a month of plateau! Someone had told me once before that it may have something to with duration or intensity of exercise (overall doubled the miles I normally walk in a week) and or medication. My foot is hurting, so I am taking advill. I don't know what's going on either. But I am going to take Vegas711's advice and up my protein and lower the carbs and see if that'll do the trick. .0
