I need help getting back on track

Hey Everyone,

So I have been dieting since April, and have lost about 26 pounds. I don't know my current weight, because I'm too scared to weigh myself, and sometimes I get a bit too obsessed with the scales. I'm 4'11.5 and I estimate 110 pounds.

In about October time I completely fell off the wagon, would get back on it, would fall off and so on. I have had several bouts of illness, so its been difficult, but I'm ready to do this properly again. My exercise plan hasn't been going so well either. I have some joint problems so have to take it relatively easy. I like classes, but they have all finished now for the next month over christmas, and work has got in the way, I can't attend the classes if work comes up (I'm self employed so I really can't turn work down). I was doing the 30 day shred and got bored, but I think it would be a good way to start again.

My main problem is when I fall off the wagon I go hell to leather with it. I don't exercise cause I think whats the point?! (I know there is a point). I go junk food mad.

I really want to get back to eating healthy, because it makes me feel amazing, but because I've been eating lots of junk food, the cravings are really bad. Last time I attempted cutting out the junk food I felt nauseous when I lay down, to the point where I got no sleep.

Does anyone have any recommendations of what type of diet I can do, which will make the cravings easier to deal with?

Also I find it super hard to get back on track after a bad day or two, does anyone have any advice on how to be more self disciplined? I do emotionally eat, so that is definitely an area I need to work on.

  • I guess you need to determine what makes you fall off track...but once done, don't over analyse it. I found cutting out the fattest foods in my diet did the treat...no non meat, or full carb diets, mixed in with a crazy exercise regime.....just strive for balance. Cut the fattest one in your diet out - now - and stick to it for six months. Like smoking....you're unlikely to go back again once the habit - the craving has been minimised. Wishing you luck - I know you will do it!
