Morning v evening workouts

With effect from January I am going to have to get back on the wagon, as I am absolutely ashamed of myself, and am blaming the wagon-falling-off on being so unhappy at work. But that isn't going to change anytime soon, so I need to get myself out of this rut.
So I currently swim in a morning before work, but once we hit the new year I intend to add another workout into this, and get my nutrition right. My question is this.... Will I get better results by doing a 'double' workout in a morning (ie gym and then my swim), or continue with the swimming in the morning as normal and do the gym workout in the evening?
All assistance gratefully received... Thanks!

If you had plenty of time I'd split them. I would think that would let you go more all out in each, which will give you the best results, particularly from the weights.0

I agree, and would suggest doing the swimming on an empty stomach to maximize the fat burning. For the evening I would look into a pre-workout supplement to give you that energy after a long day.0 -
If you like swimming, just do that, and get your diet in check, and you are golden.0
