I sure am doing a lot of research...

I have been doing a lot of research to make sure that I get the best possible results after my daughter is born. I am 39 weeks pregnant and dying to have her so that I can be with my baby and start on my weight loss. (Before you jump on me about spending time with her and taking it easy for 6 weeks, save it, because trust me, I know.)
I will be eating "clean" and counting my calories with the help of my midwife letting me know how many calories that I should be taking in while breastfeeding. I hope that breastfeeding, counting calories and exercise will be just enough for me to lose the pounds that I am hoping to lose. I realize that every woman is different and I might not be assisted with weight loss due to breastfeeding which is fine with me, that's not the reason that I plan on doing it.
My question for you,
What would the best exercises be for me? I asked my fiance to get me "30 day shred" and "Ripped in 30" for my first workout videos (after I am given the OK to exercise again). I plan on going for a 30-60 minute walk every day in order to get my endurance up before I begin the videos. I just don't know if those videos are going to be what I should get? I want to lose weight, I want to get thin but, I don't want to tone my body just yet.
Does anyone have any EXERCISE advice? A good routine that would be good for me to lose this body fat? I have done research but, it seems like asking people who have been there might know a little bit more than google reviews.
Thanks!

I don't have a clue on post natal exercise.. but one of the reasons I chose Barre 3 - mainly because they have videos as low as 10 minutes up to 60 and the demo on their website showed a new mome with her baby in a high chair while she worked out with a mybarre3 video on her iPad... you can see it on line on their website or look on you tube for a few. They really stress the post natal with a lot of workouts ...
Good luck!0 -
Start with walking every day as soon as you can. Even after six weeks post pardum you may experience discomfort if you jump right into a high intensity workout routine, especially if you have a lot of stitches. You can work out, but it may slow down healing down there. Depending on your fitness level 30 day shred seems doable for post pardum. The plus is the workouts are short so you could fit them in pretty easily.0

I am 37 weeks and also preparing for the get back on the weight loss wagon after birth. This is my second baby and after the first I had a big problem losing the baby weight. I want this time to be different.
I have find his site:
http://www.babycenter.com/packing-for-the-hospital-or-birth-center
This describe the very early exercises in the first few weeks.
If you have abdominal separation, I would suggest to look up abs exercises for specifically that. I have found tons on YouTube. if you have separation , stay clear for all the hard core abs exercised of 30 day shred and ripped 30 or any standard abs exercises. At crunch type exercise can worse or even make the separation permanent that may need surgical help.
My hospital offers postpartum program that teach you how to rebuild those muscle after the delivery. I Idid it after my baby #1 and it is a great help to rebuild your core and muscle in your private area as well. My husband definitely appreciate it I am sure other hospitals offer similar program. Usually you can start these programs at 6-8 weeks post partum, and they last 2 months. When you finish the program you are ready to do whatever you want.
The maintime it is fine to work other muscle groups, but you have to be very careful with the abs.
My plan so far is to do walking only first plus that website exercise in the first few weeks. Around 6 week pp I plan to start again my hospital pp core program, and I plan to start Jillian Michael No more trouble zone . I have many Jillian michaels DVD, and I like her style, but for my taste they have at too much jumping that kills my knee. No more trouble zone focuses on strength training and have little cardio, I ' ll skip its core sections at that time. This is the plan for week 6-14. After I finish my hospital recovery program , I 'll start P90X weight training part. I love that program , and I did 2 months of it prior getting preggo. It is way to intense, so I won't do the cardio days, only the 3x a week strength training.
By the time I finish, I ' ll be 6 months post partum.

Awesome advice!
Thanks everyone!0 -
hope baby comes soon! once you get over the delight of your new arrival, and the challenges of breastfeeding (raging hunger in the night led me to keep a banana next to me!), and the general topsy-turvy upside-downness of life with a newborn, strap on a sling or get the buggy out and walk. This will give you the added benefits of fresh air and natural light, hopefully a sleeping baby, and maybe the opportunity for some other new mums' company? You might find a buggy fit or similar?
I agree that strenuous exercise should not be rushed at. You will still have a lot of relaxin hormone swilling about in your system and you don't want to accidentally cause some damage which would set you back for longer. Talk to your midwife and take it gently.
Once everything is a little more normal in your life and body, then whatever exercise you enjoy and you can fit around a baby is my suggestion. So DVDs while naptime or in the evening are probably your best bet to start with. Just make sure they aren't toooo extreme early on (I'd personally suggest the first 6 months but I'm no expert!).
Hope the birth is straightforward and you really enjoy your new addition0 -
Thank you.
Walking will be awesome for her and I. It's going to be bitter cold here though (It's already snowing pretty hard today) so, we might have to walk around our local mall in the early mornings or at night. Whenever works best for her. I am excited to be able to walk again and be up on my feet. I have gained so much weight during this pregnancy and now, I am at my highest weight ever... it's very discouraging but, at the same time, it is encouraging.
Thanks again for all of the helpful tips. I am definitely dead set on 30 day shred... that will be my first tackled video.0
