Hemp shakes to up protein?

Hi
I follow a low in sarurated fat, high in omega 3 diet which includes fish and excludes meat and dairy. I've been veggie since a child (but the bad macaroni cheese sort!) and started eating fish and adopting this diet in recent years following a diagnosis of MS.
I'm so focussed on keeping my saturated fat low but I'm never hitting my protein target - I'm at about 20 or 30gs a day (I'm female aged 32, do exercise DVDs each day). I'm guess I should be getting more protein to feel more satisfied and maintain my weight loss long term. I'm mainly getting my protein from houmous and fish, and I know I should be adding stuff like quinoa, nuts and beans. That's my new year's resolution, kinda stuck in a rut with what I eat!
I've been thinking about protein shakes and came across hemp shakes. I can't have the whey-based shakes as I don't have dairy. This says it's close to providing the full amino acids that meat provides. Sounds good, yeah?

I can't tell which brand but the one I tried was truly disgusting in texture, really powdery. TBH that doesn't look like a proper protein isolate, it looks like defatted flour - ie. what is left when the oil is extracted much like peanut or coconut flour. I say that because it's only 47%% protein, 16% carbs and 21% fibre. That is not necessarily a bad thing but be sure you are comparing like with like in terms of dose.0

Hemp seeds are awesome for nutrition! Based on your goals, it looks perfect for you. I add shelled seeds to my baked oatmeal bars and sprinkle them on my food whenever I need a boost of protein for the day. I also use Nutiva's 15g hemp protein powder for my smoothies. I love being able to add 15g of protein along with the EFAs!0

Hiya!
How are you only getting 20/30g or protein a day? I eat vegan 90% of the time because it's just cheaper than buying meat every single day. But I eat meat, fish, whey, eggs when I decide to spend the extra money. Eat more fish, seeds and nuts!

I don't know really, I guess I'm so focussed on keeping my saturated fat low (under 15g at least or under 10g is ideal) that I'm reluctant to eat nuts for instance. But yeah I know there are vegan sources of protein I should be squeezing in. It can be in the 50s when I do make an effort like today. Thanks for the links.0
