Wanting to lose pre-baby weight

Hello Everyone! I have been on MFP on-off and would really like to commit. My husband is such a good example because he exercises almost every day. I find myself finding excuses to not exercise ("I'm too busy" "I need to study for my upcoming test" or the worst of all lies "I'm not overweight") I'm wanting to lose 10 lbs before my husband and I even seriously TRY to get pregnant. I want to exercise now so that I can continue that during my future pregnancy. So, if there are any mammas/ladies out there who have words of wisdom about pre-baby/post-baby weight, please encourage me! Thanks!
